Alternator

Post by Clone Runner » Mon May 23, 2011 8:10 pm

im wanting to go with a bigger alternator because im adding an electric fan. i have no idea what my current one is amp wise but i think im gonna need more. i figure 100 amps should be enough but im lost when it comes to the regulator it seems i need to change it. should i get one with an internal or external regulator. and should the alternator be one wire capable? im lost, any help appreciated.

I bought a 1 wire , 100 amp alternator made by Tuff Stuff . Made in USA.
Regulator not needed anymore. the one wire goes straight to the battery and puts in approx 14 volts.
......But without the regulator and 3 wires attached , that used to go to the old alternator -- the factory gage doesn't work [ well not without some wiring needed ]
