Pictures of GTX/RR rolling on seventeens
Anybody got some photos of their 71/72 GTX or Road Runner rolling on 17" wheels?
I'm probably going to lose my Rallyes and install some aftermarket wheels. Right now I'm leaning towards some American Racing Torqlites, but that is far from settled.
The current debate is whether to stick with 15s or install some 17s.
Generally I like 17s as long as they're paired up with taller tires having decent side wall. I've run them before on my '69 Charger. I just don't recall seeing many '71 Plymouth B's with them.
I know the larger diameter stuff is love - hate with the muscle car guys, so we really don't need to re-hash the topic here. I'd just like to see some examples.
Thanks

Most all of those photos show cars with wheels bigger than 17. Definitely better than nothing, but not exactly what I’m looking for.
Unfortunately, none of the online simulators I’ve come across have a ’71 Plymouth B-body. Closest I’ve come is the one on Newstalgia Wheel, which has a ’73 Charger.
I’m leaning towards 15s right now just because my car still has drums all around. Modern big wheels look kind of silly with ancient red-painted brake drums peering through.
If I ever install 4 wheel discs though, I’ll want the 17’s.
Historically, I’m pretty fickle about wheels. In six years, I had four different sets on my Charger.
On the GTX, I want something a bit blingy (polished or chrome) to compliment the yellow, but not something that looks like an anachronism. The Torqlites seem to have just enough bling, but they still look like something that might have come out of 1971.
I’m also digging the Billet Specialties Street Lites, but they almost look too modern. In addition, they would put me over budget.

I think I'm sticking with 15s for now, mostly due to budget. If I go with the Torqlites, I'll have very little additional out of pocket expense. I'm still looking at some other options.
I could probably swing the 17's, but then I'd constantly be reminded of the fact that I need to upgrade my brakes. That's just not in the budget right now.
