Unfortunately at the end of a tow rope. I'm new to your forum so I thought I would say HI and show you a few pics of my car.

A pic from 1.5 yrs ago and how she has sat for the last 16 yrs. :(

Five more pics of her with wheels on and interior vacuumed, pulled out for her trip to inside storage. (finally)
1st pic
2nd pic
3rd pic
4th pic
5th pic

I have owned this car for 19 yrs now. Shes a 440 w/ 4 speed and dana rear end. Yrs of too much out of sight out of mind has not helped her. She now has a new home inside an amazingly clean building that she shares with the owners 3 prize winning chevys. (she would like better roomates but eh)

I got the history on how I got the car and how it spent its 1st few yrs with me if you dont mind a short story.

The car was purchased from classic motor dealership in Sioux Falls, S.D. to replace my well worn '71 charger 500 that was my 1st car and I owned for 1 yr in Minnesota and half a yr in Omaha . The GTX came home with me to Omaha,NE were it prowled the streets especially Dodge St. (I always loved the name of that street) It spent the next yr or so taking me between Omaha and a summer job near Aberdeen, SD where I worked for a brother-in-law that owns (and still does) a '70 GTX 440 auto and his brother owned a '70 Roadrunner 383 auto so its easy to see where I got my taste for mopars.

On its return trip to Omaha, outside of Sioux City, IA its motor locked up.... connecting rod let loose. Block and most of engine was good but had to get a set of 6-pak crank and rods from my brother-in law. My young teenage self got a bit carried away on the engine and my good daily driver became a bit more of a handful for daily use. It only showed up for nights out or races. After that it moved with me to Watertown, S.D and was only seen when it came out to race. Then school came up and it has sat where you see it in that 1st pic ever since up to a few weeks ago.

As for the mechanicals of the car. When I bought it I was told it was #s matching but I didnt record the #s off block and tranny way back when it was rebuilt and I didn't have a chance to look when she went inside. According to the fender tag she is a 440 4bl HP with factory 4 speed so those and the orginal manual where someone actually wrote in the back most of the "service performed" lead me to believe it is orginal motor and tranny and it had all orginal engine trim.

I do question the rear end though since I can't find any code on the fender tag that points to it having a dana 60 4:10 rear end. Seen here and here

Tag

As far as I can tell no code for axle. I do have a few other questions but maybe I should make a thread in Q&A thread about it.

Interesting....you might be interested to know, the "R" in the VON (vehicle order number) on the second line designates a public relations car.
I wasn't surprised to see your car was built in Winsor Ontario. I've found very few Winsor cars that have A codes on the tag. I'm not saying Winsor didn't code As because I have a few cars from September, January, and May that do have A codes, but a substantial number do not have any. Best way to know for sure is to find the broadcast sheet.
Also, the F81 code is NOT a remote trunk release.....no one has been able to figure out what this code means, and it's unique to Winsor cars.

Broadcast sheet? is that the same as build sheet?

I found a build sheet under the rear seat about 1 yr after I bought it but alas it seems to be in misplaced along with its bill sale. I'm sure my parents had it since when I bought the car I was young enough they had the records on it. My parents and myself remembering me finding the build sheet but we dont know where it got to. :(
