Throttle cable

Post by BlackGTS » Sun May 13, 2007 8:24 am

Where can I get a good quality throttle cable for my 72 RR 400 auto? I had a new one from PG Classics and the end broke off.I assume they will replace it but I don't think I want another one of theirs.

I have checked places like Year One and they don't have them for a 72.

Thanks,Dave

I used one that I ordered from Year One for my wife's 70 Cuda, and didn't end up using. It looked exactly the same.

I found out that Chrysler made so many of those cables that, believe it or not, tomorrow you can go to your local Chrysler dealer in the parts dept. and order a brand new one. I heard this was true so I tried it last year and I'll be damned if it really was true. I ordered it and it came five days later. Now know this, I did have the part number which made things go real smooth and it was for a 1971. However, I do not believe there is any difference for that cable between the two years. I don't remember the part number off the top of my head but I do have the package with the part number on it in my road runner files. Let me know if you need it and I'll rustle it up for ya.
