Fan Shroud

Post by 72GY9Runner » Mon May 07, 2007 4:14 pm

Ok... Lots of questions this week, cuz I'm in the final steps of getting the drive train together.

I pulled the rad out of the shed and took it to get flushed/pressure checked today. I noticed immediately that there were four holes on the frame of it, one of which still had a speed nut attached. Obviously this seems to indicate that I am missing a fan shroud.

Were the shrouds an option on these cars, or did they all have them. Also....Were they the same as shrouds on other mopars (say maybe a 75 Gran Fury), or were they unique?

I saw what it looks like in pictures I am looking at today.

Shrouds were standard on our cars. Unfortunately I can't answer your other question--what other cars share the same shroud. Look for other 26" radiator cars is all I can suggest. I can also check the part number for you when I get home...

Thanks for confirming that!

As always, this is the quickest place to get answers. If you can get that part number I'd appreciate it.

I think the Gran Fury we have for a parts car has a 26 inch rad and shroud, so maybe I'll get lucky.

There are factoryshrouds for sale on ebay all the time. They go for around 70 and up depending on the shape. There are repops also. Check out Fredricks Dodge. They have a ton of mopar stuff and thier prices are less then most dealers. I bought alot of stuff from them like springs and torsion bars as well as washer bottles, overflow bottles, steering couplers, ect. They are really helpful and they sell mopar approved repoped stuff.

I got mine from Fredrick Dodge and it even has the pentastar logo embossed in it. and yes it sure did help with the over heating problems I was having after extended highway runs.
