Well, Friday I finally registered my car. I've spent the last year repairing damage previous owners have either caused or allowed but it's not a resto. It could use a paint job but it's still a 15 footer. The interior is fair with some blemishes, but I got that for free. I just know that I've never seen another 73/74 with this color scheme...stripe delete, tx9 paint, and full vinyl top. I love it's uniqueness.
First step was a trip to the gas station to fill her up with the good stuff, because the gas in there was well over a year old. Then a trip to work for an oil change. The oil was quite thin and god only knows how long it had been since that was changed.
Now I can't seem to find the correct clips to hold the rest of my vinyl trim on. The ones Year One sells are not correct. They are too small.
I haven't done anything under the hood, but I know the engine is pretty modified. I opened it up getting on the highway and almosty scared myself...which is the way it should be, heh heh. I can't believe how many comments and looks I've gotten in the space of three days. I love sitting in traffic now, because I love feeling the car rock with the loping idle.
I'd love to post more pix but I keep getting told I've reached my quota. I haven't posted pix in several weeks, so I don't know what that's all about.
Anyway, I'm having a blast and it's as much fun as I remember it being before I sold my last one in 93. And while it uses a lot of gas, it's not quite as bad as I thought it would be.
