Trim question

Post by aerodynamic » Sun Mar 25, 2007 9:23 am

Hey guys,

My 73 has these aluminum trim strips about 2 or 3 inches wide that run from the front wheel wells to the back wheel wells along the rocker (under the door). I think this is the option..."M25 Wide Sill Molding"
I've never seen this on on another 71-74 B-body. Do you guys like these things? I haven't decided if I do or not.

Well, someday If I decide to set them free I'll look you up. My car's black on black, and there's too many shiny things on it as it is, wheel moldings, vinyl moldings, ect. Let me have your email and I'll keep it just in case.

I'd love to, but I'm not allowed to post pix anymore and no one seems to want to tell me why. Tell me your email and I'll send one.

I can't say for SURE why you can't post pics, but I'd GUESS you've reached your limit. It's not a plot against you--really! Try going back to older posts and deleting images you've posted there. I know that's a pain, but I'm also guessing that will fix the problem.

I wasn't trying to be rude sir, but I have politely asked before and gotten no reply. It does say I've reached my quota, I just assumed that meant for a given time period, not indefinately. If I have incorrectly interpreted the forum rules then I apologize.

Because unlike moparts, we do not delete your old posts after a certain amount of time. Once you reach your attachment quota, you will not be able to wait it out. You will have to either delete old attachments or better yet, host the photos on another site and link to them. There are many free photo hosting sites out there. Your quota is 500kb.
Sorry if you feel you've been ignored. I don't remember you asking before, but I have answered this question several times before in other members' posts.

aerodynamic,

look at one of the posts you have written.....click the your profile button.
then on the lower right you will find the "user attachment control panel"
there you will be able to delete old pics!!!!

man it took me forever to learn this...seriously....there should be a "read me"
text around here to let people know....

Took me quite a while to figure out how to shrink picture resolution. I use something called the Advanced Jpeg Compressor. The first pix I did were 100 kb but for some reason ended up freakin huge in width, then the next time I tried they looked like postage stamps. When I finally set the program correctly, it was working well. Now it just defaults to what I need. I think I'd be screwed if I had to find those settings again, lol. Here's that trim pic, kinda far away, sorry.

all the trimings

Post by scottish440 » Fri Apr 06, 2007 6:24 pm

I have similar looking trim I have gotten off of a 73 dodge charger....

It almost looks like the 71 GTX side molding trim....but lips under the
rocker panel(has screw that go underneath the car)....and the GTX
style does not...

pretty cool looking stuff....scott

I would keep the moulding, there are a lot of people looking for that kind of stuff. If you dont like it,take it off and save it.Somewhere down the road someone might want to restore the car to its original condition and wont be able to find it.Just my opinion 8)

I agree about keeping it. Honestly, your car seems pretty unique in that not only is it black, but does not have the Road Runner stripe either. I've only seen Satellites with the vinyl top. Yes, there does seem to be a lot going on, but I would just live with it. If you remove the trim, you might have to worry about filling trim holes and repainting and all that nonsense. Be happy your car is blinged out (chrome race mirrors, wing, pinstripe, etc.) Busy, yes, but it's way cool...

"blinged out".....that's a pretty funny way to put it! I guess you're right. The trim's all in pretty good shape, anyway. Here's a more recent pic with the new roof.
