Look at the stripe

Post by aerodynamic » Mon Mar 05, 2007 9:40 pm

Well, I think this helps me to abandon any thought of doing stripes this way on my car. Yuck.

Yeah, especially the interior shot of the dash that has the great big "Satellite" emblem on that "Road Runner"!

Unfortunately this is what a Satellite/Roadrunner affecianado would call a bipolar automobile. It is clearly a Satellite Sebring and it may be a plus, but I think the interior door panels are incorrect for the plus models. They don't look anything like my Sebring Plus panels.

The hood is the standard hood for the Satellite, it ain't the bulge hood found on Roadrunners. The dash emblem is a pretty strong give away.

Now the stripe, it is something I had toyed with myself since my 74 Satellite still has the full canopy, but looking at someone else's mistake makes it blatantly obvious. It just doesn't work that way.

I still think a variation of the AAR Cuda strobes (see signature below) would work well with a full canopy top. I'm stunned at the asking price. It is a bit overpriced for a pretty stock 73 Satellite, especially when the paint doesn't look that good.

This only convinces me to keep the car what it is, a Satellite. The bulge hood would be a nice touch, but that stripe that way. . .no.

Can't see them all that well, but the door panels do appear to belong to a 72 Sebring Plus.

I e mailed this guy and haven't heard anything back yet. I told him that it wasn't even Roadrunner clone, just a Satellite Sebring. Haven't heard anything back yet.
