I actually screwed up my slot bidding on ebay. My max bid immediately was entered on a 73 RR hood. I got it for $300 at any rate. Good deal or bad? Here is my 73 Satellite it will be going on. Plan on getting it paint green with black stripe.

Those hoods are pretty hard to find. 300 is not bad for a clean hood. Hoods are a hard thing to ship and that sometimes can turn a good deal into a not so good deal. I like the 73 & 4 hoods, they sure make a difference in the attitude of the car. Nice looking car!

Wow,
your car really looks great. You must be smiling behing the steering wheel!?
Imo very nice in that colour too, I would have the RR hood painted in the same colour I think.
I think 300 for a RR hood is just right, I found a '71 RR hood in good shape for 400 last year.

The roadrunner hood will look great on that car,300 for the hood I dont know without seeing the hood. If its in great shape its probable worth it.

Not to bust your bubble, but I bought one last fall on e-bay for a hundred bucks. The guy posted it as a 74 GTX Hood and no one saw the posting. He delivered it to my door because he was driving by our town. Great shape and I am painting it right now as we speak.
My 74 has the same vinyl top, but is the dark sherwood green metallic, not the frosty mint green you have. I decided to keep the vinyl top since a lot of the Satellites are getting cloned.
Looks sharp.

No bubble burst at all. I have only found 2 around the greater s/e texas and houston areas and both had rust issues. They were around $200. Vinyl tops were available on Roadrunner as well. This is a pic of my dad's 73 340 RR when new. I found the car and redid it in the late 80s but sold it in '95.

Notice the pinstripping on the car. I have never seen another like it.

That is a nice looking Satellite. Last year I bought one as a parts car. It didn't run but was complete and fairly decent. In the course of swapping interiors and getting the car running I became quite fond of it. I probably would have kept it (318 purred like a kitten) except I'd already promised the little lady I'd get rid of it once I got what I needed. It went on to a good future with a guy in NJ. He apparently had a Road Runner but the body was shot, so everything was going to be transferred to the Satellite. I'm glad that's where it went. Here's a shot of my Road Runner with a sun-damaged Vinyl top (new one being installed this week).
