71 RR 440-6 fan set up

Post by general » Sun Mar 04, 2007 8:37 pm

I've been trying to figure out if a 440-6 would have a clutch type setup for the fan or just an ordinary 7 blade fan.

I need help....thanks

Well maybe I answered part of this question. In the track pack option it says it includes Maximum cooling and a 7 blade torque drive fan.

Now what does Maximum cooling refer to????

And is a torque drive fan the same as a clutch type fan????

I hate this terminology...

Maximum cooling would be the 26" radiator with shroud. And yes, the maximum cooling package was part of the Track Pack. Also, the Plymouth Features Guide for '71 mentions the 7-blade clutch fan on cars equipped with a 440, therefore I'd think it would automatically be included on 440+6s. Yeah, torque drive fan, viscous clutch fan, it's all the same thing...

Yup, my car has a clutch/torque drive on the fan. It's an A34 super track pak car too. I believe max cooling referred to a 26" radiator and a power steering cooler.

Thanks guys for the quick reply. Looks like I must add this to my list of parts to find.
