What type of nut holds the "C" mouldings on RR hoo
Is it by any chance those nuts that have a washer shaped more of less like a bell. If it is those is there a source for them. If not, can someone post what is needed.

There are four total of the cups (I call them “thimbles†which they resemble) which are on the ends of the hood callouts and three just plain nuts with captive washers in the middle. They are all 10-24 threads. The studs that screw into the hood callouts can be gotten from RT, or you can make them like I did. Got those barrel shaped brass things from Home Depot that are designed to screw into wood and have 10-24 threads on the inside. Then just cut 10-24 rod to the right length and PRESTO! You have to be VERY careful though as when you screw the brass into the hood callouts you can crack them if you don't drill the right size hole. If you do it yourself, drill the hole too big and put a dab of JB weld on the barrel exterior threads. It will lock them in tight!
One of the problems is they trap water and hence rust out. One of mine had completely rusted out the other three were usable. So I had my brother machine nifty replacements out of aluminum in such a way that any water that gets in, just runs out. Work like a charm, although I don't plan on driving the car in the rain.
Here's a pix of original ones in various states from usable to unusable along with the ones I had machined.
Obviously if your building a show car where authenticity is required, the machined ones aren't going to work. But mine is a Sonic Drive In cruiser so I don't really care.

Saw a complete set of all the nuts, studs and thimble nuts on Ebay for over 200 bucks! Interestingly enough the thimble nuts were not fluted like mine, yet he claimed they were 100% correct & original. Hmmmm, I thought as I KNEW mine were original as I bought the car new and they had never been removed before I started the restoration.
Turns out we were both right as apparently Ma Mopar using different vendors got more than one design. Mine were fluted or had petals while others were round and smooth.

Sounds like the attaching hardware for an air grabber is the same as for the hood callouts. I found a set of "horseshoes" as I call them on eBay for some outrageous amount and the end of one was broken off to boot. Thankfully I didn't need any! They, like the '72 grille are bringing big bucks! (I didn't need one of them either!)
