I've seen runners and GTXs with VINs very close together, but I can't say whether the factory ran them in batches. I doubt they did though. There really wasn't much difference to cause them to need to.altyfam wrote:eric, by the way ,the first vin Igave was the correct one R1 106823 in another paragraph I was dsylexic (R1106328)
also ,do a certain number of model come in series by vin example so many gtxs then so many sattelites etc thanks Dave
Sounds like you may not only have bumpers, interior, etc swapped out on it....sounds like the VIN plate and title did a swap as well....If your title, VIN plate and fender tag do not match the numbers on the cowl or those on the radiator support, I would do some serious looking into the car....you may have a rebodied car, and could be looking at some serious federal offenses....Contact the previous owner, if possible to find out some info on this....Why would anyone choose to make a Satellite from a Roadrunner(No offense to my Satellite owner brothers and sisters!)....unless there is an alterior motivealtyfam wrote:what I guess I did not make clear perhaps , is that it was discovered that this car is indeed a 1971 vehicle with swapped out bumpers ,interior etc the side marker lights are flush not protruding.
