Re: Startin to work on the Clone Runner (it's PAINTED!)
So continuing on, I found the original windshield washer pump.
The washer bottle had a big crack in it and was very brittle, So I bought a reproduction one at my local Mopar car show.
The pump itself was looking ruff, but it does work (I tested it). So it's time to give it a clean-up. Right down to bare steel. Then I'll shoot some clearcoat on it and install it to the new washer bottle.

Here's the washer bottle with pump installed.
First is the chrome ignition box. Next is the voltage regulator.. Here's the firewall look so far. I still need to mount the coil and the throttle cable and the beep beep horn.

Keep going! Come hell or high water - I want to finish the body work on my ride and at least get the shell in paint by this fall.
Scott.

Thanks Scott, the plan is to finish it and start to enjoy it this year.
Today I was able to mount the coil and the ballast resistor as well as the throttle cable and hook up the wiring harness to all the bits. I also provided a positive feed wire from the starter solenoid to the headlight relay harness. I wrapped the feed wire into the existing wiring harness that runs to the front of the car. Here's some more of the wiring harness used on the passenger side.

Today I was able to finish up the positive cable that runs to the starter.
Since I'm leaving the battery in the trunk, I needed to connect the starter cable to the battery cable.
So, I borrowed a big ass crimper from my buddy Lloyd. Then, cleaned up the battery cable end. Now the starter cable end along with some DEI heat sleeving. Here's the big butt connector on the starter cable side. Now the whole thing together. I left the smaller 2 wires that run to the solenoid longer - when the engine is in the car and the starter hooked up I'll be able to finish up those two wires.

After that was done, I tackled the under hood to rad support seal.
The original one wasn't broken or ripped, just dirty. So I used a combination of lacquer thinner along with some WD40 to clean it up. So far so good.

Re: Startin to work on the Clone Runner (it's PAINTED!)
Got in the garage today and got some more stuff put on the car.
It wasn't too bad temperature wise..... First up was the cowl drain flap - this one came from Detroit Muscle Technologies......Thanks Jim. Next was the high beams - I couldn't wait for Amazon to get the high beams as they are on back order, so I bought a set at my local auto parts place at twice the price each...

Next item is the cowl to under hood seal.
Instead of using the steel clips like the factory did, I went ahead and bought these ribbed push pins from Amazon. And installed.
And mounted.

Last item is the beep beep horn.
Unfortunately my repop inner fender did not come pre-drilled for the horn mounting.
I had to do it myself.
First, locate the 2 holes that will have to be drilled....
Next, do the deed.
Lastly install the horn and all is good.

Wrapping up the last few things in the engine bay.
The clutch rod that goes thru the firewall along with it's boot. Next was the splash shields that fit under the headlights. Then hook-up the power wire for the line-loc. Then it was time to unwrap the front bumper brackets I had powder coated.

And here they are - they turned out nice.
Now to trial test fit the drivers side bumper brackets.

Re: Startin to work on the Clone Runner (it's PAINTED!)
I was able to find another tail housing for my 4 speed locally thru a Mopar buddy.
In the meantime it's time to drag out the engine K-member and get started on cleaning it up.
It's a 2 hydraulic jack trolley job to move it.
I need to change it due to the original one's front mount pad for the shifter box is unrepairable.
Bonus is that it comes with the driveshaft bushing already in place.
So off it goes into the evaporust vat to get cleaned up.In the meantime it's time to drag out the engine K-member and get started on cleaning it up.

Pulling the shrink wrap off, I get this....
Next, scuff it with a coarse scotch brite pad then apply some semi-gloss black. It looks shiny now because the paint has just been applied.
I'll start with the underside first.
Clean up the dirt and other stuff off of it with this.
See the foaming action....

I had time today to flip the K-member over and paint the topside.
