Tawney Gold 72 Runner

Post by quapman » Fri Nov 15, 2013 8:06 am

I'm going to look at a GY9 72 Runner today and if it's as nice as the bigfoot pics I have, will probably buy it.

400/auto/buckets/console, no vinyl top, no rust except the trunk floor. Nothing special for options.

It's semi-apart (drivetrain out, header panel in the trunk, 71 grille, seats torn up and not bolted in), but it's matching #s.

How badly will I get berated if I paint it a different color? (I'm thinking 2011 Toxic Orange)

I'm also leaning toward tossing in a 440, since I have a couple laying around. More abuse? The matching stuff will go into storage and not be molested.

Pics to follow and I'll get tag and b/c info to Eric.

Opinions welcomed. :)

Tawny gold rocks...there's several fans here.

Don't paint it a different color...

I'll make it really easy on you...I love the color...I'll trade you for a '68 fury III convertible. runs, drives, pretty solid.

Bigfoot took the pictures of that car?

'71 grille in it. Cubic $$$ for a proper '72. :(

Well........

Bigfoot forgot to mention the front end damage that would require replacement of the inner fenders and some front frame alignment. Floors were pretty rotty, too.

I'm going to pass. :(

Well, since I first looked at this car, the owner has done quite a bit to it and we're now very good friends. He has his eye on my Challenger, so we may do a trade and I may be back to asking stupid questions about Tawney Gold Runners.

That would be the one, yes. I'd be getting boot, of course.

Just wanted to clarify since your Challenger count must be up to like 20 now... And I think you didn't hear him correctly, he said you would be getting THE boot! :D
