Favorite 70s aftermarket wheel?
I cannot be happier with the look of my 15" Road Wheels with polished trim ring and new G60-15 Polyglas tires but was thinking of another set to tool around with my 71. I've been toying with the idea of slots, Cragar S/S, Keystone Klassics or even turbines. They key word here is 1970s! I think it would be cool to go from that factory look to "day-2" and back again with a simple, wheel and tire change. Trying to decide on radials too. Right now thinking of something with raised, solid white lettering like BFG Radial GTs or Cooper Cobras; 275-60 or 295-50 rears although 275-50-15 is the same exact height as G60-15s so maintaining speedometer accuracy would be a plus. I haven't decided on fronts wether same size or staggered. I'm looking for any thoughts or photos of what vintage aftermarket rolling stock some of you may be running. Post up!

Re: Favorite 70s aftermarket wheel?
My favorite wheel is the aluminum slot! Love em. With vintage wheels there where a number of manufactures that made the same style wheel but with minor differences. Some wheels you probably have never seen. If you ever get the chance look in the back of of some of the popular magazines from the era. You will see adds for them. It's a real shame the all the wheel manufactures hopped onto the spoked wheel(and now black wheel) ban wagon and don't make anything like the vintage classics(with some exceptions). A nice polished slot with BF Goodrich TA's (letters on the outside) you cant beat.

Re: Favorite 70s aftermarket wheel?
I have to agree with both of you on the Slots. You should check out Detroit Vintage Wheels. That guy does incredible restorations on most all wheels from this era and specializes in slotted wheels. I have lately been toying with the idea of Keystone Klassics especially because Summit sells them new and with free shipping
It looks like 295/50/15s are the same exact height as a G60-15 Polyglas. I plan to search the forums but wondering if 15x10s with 4-1/4" back spacing will fit ok. I'm guessing yes for the rears and still debating on the big-n-little look. Anyone here run those honkers in the back? Widest fronts without rubbing? Staying with 15s.

I know this thread is older, but I couldn't resist but wake it. I'm partial to the Cragar S/S. Probably because that's the first thing I saw before I bought my car, that and mesmerized by the violently shaking exhaust tips.
