old car, new shoes

Post by Eric » Mon Oct 13, 2014 5:48 pm

I picked up a new set of wheels and tires for the bahama yellow car. Now I just need to get the paint work done and everything else to get the car back on the road!

Looks great Eric! These wheels look like they were made for the B bodies! I put a set on my 71 Charger back in March. Everywhere I go with the car people ask about the wheels. A lot of Mopar people say they did not like them when they saw them listed for sale. But after seeing them on the car...."they just look right"!

still the best reproduction wheels to date. I just wished they fit my 13" brake kit...

What I really like with these wheels is that I can run 275s on all 4 corners. I would have liked to find 275/45 17s but it seems no one makes that size, so I settled on 275/40 17. I'd like to fill up the wheel opening a little more, but these will do.
I think Year One really hit it out of the park when they came out with these!

I went with 17x8 fronts with Nitto 255/50/17 and 17x9 rears with Nitto 275/50/17.

Actually I've got a new favorite color. It was on this Studebaker Lark gasser at the Gasser Shootout at Piedmont Dragway yesterday. :D

But notice how they use all that beautiful red and purple to counterbalance that gold butterscotch awfulness... AND they added some pearlescence and metalflake to the mix... :D
