Hood Latches

Post by road chicken » Wed May 21, 2014 11:22 am

Are the manual release and cable release hood latches the same or different. I assume there is some clamps and such that go with the cable release.

They're actually a bit different - mainly handle for the manual vs. the button where the cable looped end attaches. Yes, there is a clamp for the cable that attaches to the vertical support, passenger side. An older thread may have pics. I asked about this a while ago, because I have a remote release and my cable was missing along with the clamp.

Thanks. I'm just getting too old to keep getting on the ground to pop the manual latch-  ( I have the front blocked off with mesh so I'm reaching a channel lock in between the radiator support and the lower front valence... Not pretty. I might see if I can figure out how to activate the stock latch with a cable and a little injunnewity :D
