Seat belts

Post by aerodynamic » Thu Jun 22, 2006 8:15 pm

Hi all,

Just recieved some seat belts from a boneyard in Oregon. I think the front seat belts (for buckets) are wrong. Don't 73 b-body belts have only one retractor? These have two per seat. Does that mean I got belts for the 71/72? Or for some other Mopar altogether?
I can send a picture if someone will e-mail me. I can't put a big enough pic on the site.
Also, the belts that were sent have 4 mounting points, I can only find three holes in the car per side. One on the ceiling above the door, one almost on the floor below it, and one on the trans hump behind the bucket. Whaddya think?

email me a pic and I can tell you if they're from a 71....the 71s had separate belts for lap and shoulder (but they attached to the floor at the same place)

Well, the guy I bought them from still insists they come from a 73/74. Maybe I can get someone to post a pic of the belts from those years, or send me some pix? I did have a 74 years ago, and I think the shoulder belt was just folded near the roof and you just grabbed it and put it across yourself and latched it to the lap belt latch. No retractor up there that I recall.

seatbelts

those are seatbelts from a 74 charger or sat.....they retract from the rear interior quarter panel....and require a different rear interior quarter panel.....

I like them better than the clipped to the roof style we all have...but they are not correct for your year....and you will have to get the other rear panels if they have them...they do work great though...

other than that the belts are pretty much the same....scott

I think I've seen several dusters with those belts, if that helps anyone...they're pretty much the only cars I've seen with them, but i've seen belts like that for sale for the 73-74 cars
