Braces again

Post by BlackGTS » Tue Jun 13, 2006 7:29 am

A few weeks ago I ask about the fender braces that attach to the firewall on a 72 RR.At the time I said there wasn't a hole in the firewall to attach them.I just got the car back from the body shop and there is a stud on the firewall that I would assume is for the braces. It is an inch offcenter to the right. If that is what the stud is for them the braces would be different lenghts. Is that right?
I have no pentastar on the right fender.I thought all mopars had them and that I had a replacement fender.A friend of a friend has a 72 that is original and it does have a pentastar.Does anyone know what is correct?

Thanks,Dave

The passenger fender should have a pentastar....could be someone filled in the holes or the fender was replaced....

I thought 1971 was the last year for the pentastar on the right fender.

Well I'd never claim to be an expert on the 72s. I've seen other later model cars with the star, and I thought I'd seen 72 B bodies as well. If I'm mistaken my apologies. I'm sure moparmarks over on moparts would know....he doesn't come over here much.
