Roof rail Rubber

Post by Howco71 » Tue Aug 13, 2013 9:42 pm

I'm installing the roof rail rubber in my 71 Satellite. The new rubber is a universal fit for all B-bodies of that era. It is about 12" to long for my application. I'm assuming I cut the excess off, but I do not know where to cut. I do not have the old rubber to use an an example. Could anyone give me a close up pic of the passenger end of their roof roof rail rubber? Help Howco71 :help:

I think I resolved the issue. I stuffed the excess into the body cavity behind the window. looks OK.

That would be right. I remember taking mine out and there was 6 inches extra in the quarter panel
4th generation B bodys- there is no substitute.

i did this as well but cut past the roof line about 2" so no one could see it and didn't have 6" hanging in there
