Deck Filler question

Post by wejewill » Wed Jun 05, 2013 11:25 am

I had to replace the deck filler panel on my 72 RR and I am not sure how to get the piece sealed and get the factory look correct before it gets painted. The body guy seems to think they welded the seam between the qtr. panel and the deck filler panel then used seam sealer to make the factory look. I do not believe he is correct, but I am not sure? Please let me know before I make a huge mistake. [img][/img]

Body guy is correct, three or four spot welds on the underside flanges and seam sealer worked down into the joint. A joint line is visible however.
