sorry if that came out confusing.ha ha
the encircled area is a roof over strobe on a 1973 and early production 1974's.
That area is a solid stripe on mid to late production 1974's. (Yeah, I know they stopped production on the Plymouth Satellite line early).
I've never seen a real live 1974 RR, survivor, restored, or cloned with a solid roof over stripe.

I have a '73 RR that is a factory 400 (originally, anyway) and a factory 4-speed. It has a vented hood, just for the record. Not sure of the build date. And who knows if it's stock or not. Can't imagine why he'd replace it, the front-end, inner fenders, radiator-support frame, etc. has no damage.

73s had vents 74s didnt plain and simple . as for the 73 ad the vents may have been "AIRBRUSHED OUT " they did the same thing with the antennas in ads also because it caused a BLUR effet or something on those lines .
the solid stripe over was 74 maybe a mid 74 change .
also remeber is your going to surf the net looking at 73s & 74s to find the differance , alot of cars have been restored and repainted over the years and during the repaint the 74 soild roof over stripe may not have been avalibile yet or the owner may have chose the statter/ strobe stipe just because it looks better .
74 rrs also have the gas tank relocated up into the trunk
easy way to spot the diff between 73-74 BIG BLOCK and small block cars is the passenger side inspection cover BBS have a big rubber cover sbs have a small steel cover

the tank itself has a bulge and that fits in the recess of the trunk, the gas tank isn't in the trunk, its the way the underside is made with the recess

for as long as I can remember, 73 had vents and 74 did not. But really it does not matter to the Jesus.
