I'm getting ready to ask a buddy with a paint sprayer to paint the grille on my '72 Sat the same black as a '71 RR/GTX grille. Does anyone have the '71 body manual or know the paint mix for that particular Black? Looks to be something between flat and gloss.
Also. any pics from the shop manual on how to remove the griille without damaging anything? Thanks.

Original 71 RR/GTX grilles are not painted black. They're unpainted black plastic with the silver areas painted.
The grille is very easy to remove, lots of screws and a couple of plastic push ins IIRC

Thanks, Eric.
That would imply that I should strip the silver paint off my '72 grille.
But I'll probably just have it shot flat black.

I'd go with more of a gloss...something like an SEM trim black or even a little glossier. The black plastic has a decent shine to it...
