console

Does anybody have a factory console with the factory tape player? How does the mount for the tape player go through the console? Is it flat steel or tubeing? Did they cut slots in the console or drill holes ? I'm putting the pioneer KP 500 supertuner that i had in this car in the 70s back in it, and there's not really a good place under the dash with the air vent knobs in the way, so i was thinking about putting it where the factory player was.

There is a different mount that bolts to the top of the console.

I have a factory cassette in my car. Yes, holes on the front of the console. Here is a photo of a GTX with a after market radio inside a factory set up. I saw this twice. It can look decent if you do it nice. On the flip side, I've seen a few turds.
