1972 340 4spd RR

A couple of months ago I purchased this numbers matching 340 4speed Roadrunner out of NC from a friend who needed the money for some repairs. It was built 7/14/72 and has a 71 dated 340 from the factory. I was also told that 7/14 was the last day of assembly for the st. louis plant? The owner before my friend unfortunately took the real RR grille out to put in a clone runner! Since I will NEVER be able to replace that grille I will have to put a satellite grille in it instead. In the pics it is very dusty as it was in a barn for a number of years so I guess you could call it a barn find...

7/14/72 is the latest build date I have in my database for the 72 model year. Interestingly, 7/14/71 is the earliest build date I have for the same.

Thanks! It is an original gold interior car and all the gold interior is still there except the carpet but the covers and panels etc have been dyed / painted black by a PO.

Dont give up on the grill, they come around once in a while. Just be prepared to pay a pretty penny or three for it. Good luck!

Thanks Eric, I wonder if this is the last of the 329 340 4spd RRs built in 72? If not its got to be close. Also for being built on the last SPD for 72 its odd that they were still using up 71 340 blocks.

The VIN is about 700 higher than your car and it's TB3 blue with a B5 blue interior.

By the way, V8Y on your tag indicates a gold strobe stripe.
