'72 Satellite/RR Door Panel Differences

Post by SteveDana » Sat Oct 22, 2011 12:59 pm

Hello-

I'm working on my '72 SSP.

I'm on a tight budget (Doing three cars at once, one being a '58 Plymouth)
and trying to get the '72 looking "descent"...

Anyway-
My original door panels look like this black one (except mine are supposed to be white)

I have a chance to buy a pair out of a '73...

I feel they should bolt in okay, but I have seen '72s with similar panels to these.
Did Chrysler use two different style panels for '72?

Thanks-
Steve in NC

I used this style- and it has cleaned it up alot-
Yeah having a 72 SSP myself id prefer to use my org. pannels too but they are totally destroyed- by some looser who put a speaker in the upper door pannel...sigh-
This is the other style that was available- most RR came with

I'm pretty sure the SSP's had the same door panel as the 71 GTX's, with the round medallion on it. That what my 71 SSP had and I don't think the 72 changed???

If Plymouths are anything like Dodges, the 73-4 panels will not fit 71-72's. The later Charger panels are just a bit longer. Not 100% sure about the Sats & RRs, but something to look out for.
