Tranny ?
I have a 69 Coronet with 383-727 and I put a 2400 BM stall with shiftkit years ago. It goes bang screach like it should but has a few minor issues. I adjusted the valve body pressure like instructed with an allen wrench. I installed a BM deep finned pan and added the correct amount of fluid. My problem is that when I coast in neutral and shift back to drive it hits second first and quickly shifts into drive. I have no kickdown whatso ever and I have it adjusted where the rod is about to fall out. I have always manually shifted the auto on the column because I like to shift it where I want to. The factory manual says to test pressures at 2 different points. My ? is with what. I put the shiftkit, stall and pan in at the same time in 2001. There are no filings in the pan or dirt. Everything seems fine and she shifts great but shifts WAY early like in drive at 25MPH. Do I have my adjustments off and do I need something like Lokar kickdown? Am I doing wrong by not having the kickdown adjusted correctly.

Re: Tranny ?
Let us know if you've got the factory kickdown linkage hooked up and adjusted. Sometimes with aftermarket carbs and/or intakes you may need to modify your linkage, especially if starting with a 2 barrel set up.
Study a stock 4 barrel set up, and try to copy it. I've heard you can cause damage if this isn't right.
