You know, an air grabber bubble on that hood would look even better. The top surface of the bubble would probably come up right below the bottom of the scoop. Would look like it was planned that way.
No need to cut up an original bubble either since there are repops out there.

WOW....That 71 is SWEET! I don't like the nitrous lines in the back, but it is still way sexy! I think I am sold. So you can buy an air grabber faux cap just for the bubble? That would look so freakin' awesome!

What is a fair price to pay for a factory 6 pack set-up (intake, carbs and breather)? There is one for sale in my town and I am interested in it for a 440 eng.

Re: 6-bbl v. 8-bbl
hmm I was org going to use a six pack setup-
Found just the intake for 400.00 used and priced the carbs to around 800 (new) ..
Soo Id estimate 1000-1300 is a good deal depending on condition (no welds/cracks) but ive seen them advirtised as much as 2000+plus

Brand new set up with aluminum intake carbs and air cleaner will run north of $2k so a used set up should obviously be less than that...

This guy is asking 2k when I looked at it the carbs need to be rebuiltfor sure, the intake should be cleaned up the breather was in good shape so I offered him $1200 and he laughed at me and said you don't know what you are looking at and just how rare this is.Anyway I will wait until the summer and look around at swap meets I can't pay full price for something that needs work

Rare? Only reason to pay big $$$ for a used set up would be if you're paying for the parts numbers you need to restore a car "correctly". I have a hard time calling something rare when they are still being made and you can just plunk down the cash and buy one off the shelf...
For cars like mine that are going to get DRIVEN, I didn't care one bit about the parts numbers. In fact, my '71 has an aluminum intake just cuz the iron one it "SHOULD" have was so dang HEAVY. Not to mention given my 50/50 success/failure ratio in rebuilding Holley carbs I wanted to start with NEW ones that I didn't have to mess with!

I agree with you I bought a new carb for my 440 that I recently installed in my 72 SSP and really for a driver that is more then enough carb when properly dialed in but I thought if the 6 pack was a good deal i would have picked it up as I will be restoring a 71 GTX and I want it to be different then the SSP. Some guys are out to lunch when it comes to Mopar parts and pricing.

Something is almost always rare because "I haven't seen one around since the 70's, blah, blah, blahhhhhhhhhh........"
These are the guys who haven't touched a car since they removed their six packs and installed 4-bbls. in 1973 because gas hit $.40/gallon and/or they didn't have a clue how to tune the cars in the first place. "I took out that pesky thermostat so's she'd flow better, but now she runs good on some days, and crappy on others". <scratches head>
I educated a semi-local guy who was selling a 340 sixpack setup a couple years ago. He started at $2k and I ended up shelling out $1200. Yes, it came with a real T/A air cleaner, but some genius had butchered it to clear a 2-speed wiper motor.
