rear sway bar
A few questions on rear sway bar on the 71's.
Were they an option? Any one have feedback on aftermarket kits? What are the advantages of sway bars? Thanks

Agreed, no 71 rear bar from the factory, but you can retrofit a later year one on a 71. Benefits...the car will handle better. I have one on my butterscotch car, and it's a big difference from blue car that doesn't have one.
AKA Butterscotch71....the road runner nest is out to win you over this year!

Re: rear sway bar
I bought the Addco rear bar for my '72 SS and intend to put it on this Spring. However, over on Moaprts, people claim that it's a on-size-fits-all, and it'll need a lot of shimming to get it to fit right. I'll report back in a coupla months with what I learned.

I wasn't the original owner of my '71 RR, but I'm pretty sure my rear sway bar was from the factory.Eric wrote:Agreed, no 71 rear bar from the factory, but you can retrofit a later year one on a 71. Re: rear sway bar
my 72 does not have one on the rear and i would like to put one on the rear. i noticed there are 3 companies that sells them feel firm, addco, and hellwig. i personally like the looks of the ones that hang down by the axle, any recommendations. how about for the front. any good upgrades?
