71 Roadrunner 3 speed Wiper Motor
HI. Can anyone tell me why my WIPERS don't work. Could it be the switch, because I can get another one? Could it be the wiring? What would you do. Thanks.

I know on the Dodge truck I just got that if the motor is running, but the arms don't move, they are disconnected. Mine were becasue the plastic retainers were broke into several pieces. I got a pack of them at O'Reiley's for a few bucks-comes with I think three different types. Putting them on wasn't fun. I had to remove the cowl grille and then reach in with vise grips and screwdrivers and pliers till I finally got them all on good. I don't know how it would be done on the 71-74s, but probably similar, except you would probably just have to take out the plastic grille screens, since the wipers are hidden.

Thanks, and the wiper motor works once in a while a little. The wiper blades move maybe 3 inches. That's only in a great while. THANKS Again!

Hey I just remembered something. Is your hood down when you work them? THe wiper motor and switch worked on mine all the time, but sometimes, the arm would hit on the bottom of the hood on its way up and would stop. The driver's one would come up about three inches and the passenger one would barely clear the shadows. If it doesn't work all the time, I guess you could maybe test it-if it works, try the switch or, another problem I had with my car, the grounds. If it does work, but cuts out, I would think that's an electrical problem, though.
