Back in may 2006 i finally did a deal with a very good freind of mine that secured the ownership of my very first V8.
WELL you can imagine how excited i was 23 years old i already own the 96 neon and the 75 dodge dart.
I had known the car for a few years, it was one of the very few cars that really got me excited when i saw it entering the show ground or drag strip,it wasent a dodge charger [commen] or a dodge challenger [commen] but an origional petty blue petty stickerd 72 roadrunner [the best shape for mopar me thinks],and best of all it was that all important 4 SPEED.
I still rememeber and will never forget the trip up to manchester from swindon ,6 trains and around 5 hour trip,all with that important cheque and the biggest grin on the planet.
When i arrived at bolton train station it was a long 20 minute wait,but then finally i could hear it that low rumble of the small block 340 v8,the snort between the gear shifts and to top it all off the sound of BF goodrich tyres being shredded on the asphalt,and there it was.

The first winter i owned the car i pulled out the engine and replaced the pistons and crank with a stroker kit taking it from 340-416 but did not have the money to replace heads cam etc
The next year i decided to tackle the wires as the car was not charging,starting,or doing anything right,the wires all over the place etc,
i started to rip it all out
it has electric windows so all the motors etc had to come out

i made good what i could,replaced what was bad and patched up

the 40 year old ignition stuff had to go and replaced with shiny things

after all that the new bonnet had to be made found an old rust bucket and an old scoop

did some hockus pockus

and tadaa magic

with the stance and the bonnet dont he look aggresive

Next winter i am planning on doing the bodywork,but keeping it the petty and maybe adding a rollcage,but for now the plan is for
