Dash Cap

Post by rthrbfishn » Mon Oct 05, 2009 9:46 am

Has anyone bought/installed one lately? I was looking for a good fit.
Here's one that wraps underneath, but it might cover the maplight?

looks like a nice piece though..

it's just vacuum formed plastic. if you read "how it's used" it's just an overlay. you don't pull off your original vinyl.

I have one and you can trim out the map light area.
Just don't park you car in the sun all summer long. It will wrap.

ctown, did you use this same company for your cap? Would you recommend?

Got mine at the Columbus Mopar Nats a few years ago. I like it but did not get it from the eBay seller.
Shipping should be cheaper then $55.
I would look at Year One and many other vendors.
Cheak the Mopar magazines and check prices and shipping first.
The eBay one will cont to appear over and over again.
I don't remember who made mine.

i believe i bought mine from JCWhitney. think it's an accuform (?). anyhow, mine does not wrap around where it would interfere with the map light. i wasn't completely happy with it, as the studs for the passenger side dash insert weren't long enough when adding the thickness of the cap, so i had to trim the cap

but, it's a lot better than having an old cracked dash - i was embarrassed by it - now it basically looks like the dash in my mustang.

I tried Legendary, they were out of the caps until January. They were also getting me for 60$ to ship it! It is an oversize, according to them. I cancelled the order (backorder) to go look elsewhere. Got LOTS of other goodies from them though..

Your lucky you dont live accross the border as they only will ship UPS and UPS charges a "documention fee" and an additional brokerage fee. COMPLETE scam. They must be making a killing surprising people with this. /rant off

I find Year One expensive and then when you add UPS shipping onto it, I go out of my way to buy elsewhere. Put it this way, I had to buy an Air Grabber air cleaner lid and it ended up costing me over $300 Cdn. Ive seen them for $80. Ya I'm a little PO'd

I did get the one on ebay. other shipping options got the shipping down to 19$. fedex ground took about 4 days. He must have shipped it same day. It is an accu-form. and it does wrap underneath, the maplight area is cut out. looks good, I'm going to try to install monday or tues.
