I'm looking at using an edelbrock performer rpm intake on my 383. Has anyone had any hood clearance issues with this intake?
I'm gonna start off running the car with a Carter Comp 750 carb and want to use the factory as well. Also, Is anyone using the M1 dual plane intake on their motors? If the performer rpm intake won't clear then I'm looking at the M1 dual plane intake as a back up.

Re: Intake/hood clearance question
I don't have either intake on my 383.
I have a higher than stock intake and use a drop base air cleaner. You can use different height air filters to make clearance for the hood.
You may not be able to use your stock snorkel style air intake.
Good luck.

Re: Intake/hood clearance question
I am a little late to this discussion, but yes it will work. I am running the performer PRM with Carter Comp on my 440. I use a drop base like ctownrunner said . I did have to add a small spacer under the base so it would clear my electric choke - not sure how much drop there is but at the time it was the most I could find and it fit well over my old Holley (no choke) I had on there. I also did the height check but I improvised and used a couple of pillars made from mud.
