door panel question

Post by bandman » Fri May 08, 2009 8:19 am

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get the rings that are on the top of the door panels that the door lock rod sticks out of. It's the last peice of the puzzle, and I can finish my baby up.

72 right? Are they all metal or the clear plastic with metal backing?

They are metal!

And yes a 72.

Problem might be that they were custom door panel covers when I got them (as in home made).

Help!

They are called door lock ferrules, I believe. Try a search that way on ebay or Year One. They are easily obtainable.

are they 4 prong or 2 prong?
I have found that on 71's there were both styles used, my early build GTX has the 2 prong that is vertually impossible to find and the second 71 GTX has the 4 prong and that one was a later build and assembled at a different plant. If you see any 2 prong styles anywhere, please let me know, I need a set for my car, thanks.

I've been trying to get Mike over at B/E&A to repop the 71 2 prong style (clear plastic with metal core). Even offered him an NOS one to use as a template. So far I haven't convinced him. Maybe if he gets inquiries from a bunch of people.....
