air conditioning system...

Post by landon1 » Tue Mar 17, 2009 11:31 pm

thought i would see what you guys thought about an e-body air conditioning system in a 71 B? they share many parts, thought i'd see what you thought. it is also mentioned that the dash cluster area was designed to use the e-body instrument cluster, so that may be another possibility i'm considering for down the road.

the reason i ask about the a/c is that i see 2 different types of heater valves, one that works with a cable that says e-body, but i see that some 71-2s use that style. the other is what i have - vacuum operated and it's never worked, but not really sure where to begin since i don't have the whole system, so wondered if i could get a complete e-body kit and be done with it.

food for thought

I would rather have the cable operated, vacuum is a finicky thing.

71's came with the vacuum control valve, 72's came with the cable operated valve. Maybe a few early 72's came with the vacuum but I couldn't say for sure. The controls are different too.
