Actually, I would like to renig on my previous comment. I agree if there were pedestrians and children around, and it was not a public road, they could have just walked up to him and arrested him. I'm sure he wouldn't have ran, and if he did, just tack that onto his charges. It's not like he'd get away. Anyway, I agree with another person's post: innocent until proven guilty. I also need to disagree with the person that feels Chrysler does not deserve royalties for others repopping their products. It's their company and their products, whether currently reproduced or not, and I feel they deserve a piece of the pie... whatever helps them stay in business. They're making a new Challenger after all! Pretty cool. We wouldn't want Dodge to go the way of Plymouth after all. Or even more important, Mopar Performance division.

Anyway, good info here to digest if you can read between the "emotional" comments. Thanks for everyone's input. I agree we can all agree/disagree and be more mature, including myself, I just tend to side with law enforcement for uh, no apparent reason. :)

I never said MOPAR shouldn't get their due. I just said Mopar should make it easier for those who are reproducing parts for MOPAR'S older cars. If that was the case we would see more and more parts being made for our birds. There's always nos! I don't know if it was me that ruffled some feathers here in the nest because no quotes were used.

Everyone makes it out like the police were acting like Barney Fife on steroids...if that is true, it sounds like they went a little over the top on things. I can just picture Barney arresting Layson, while holding his gun with one bullet in it (hand shaking)...lol.

I agree Chrysler should get their piece of the pie...but where was Chrysler years ago, when parts were needed, and they showed NO interest. Its only the last few years that DC has shown interest. Better late then never, but still...

Timing is everything! The police could have taken Dave Layson at anytime, he was not a danger to society, himself or others. The tactics used in taking him down, are questionable at the least. Shock and awe should not be employed for non-violent crimes, as this was. Thankfully, nobody was injured.
