could be...idk...i had an electircal fire once....car just quit, got out, smoke started, luckily it was cold and i was wearing gloves...grabbed on to the wires and squeezed...put out the fire, had sleeving melted to my gloves, though....re-wired the engine bay in a few hours

Yes the damage was due to a fire caused by the carb doing a serious burp and fueled by the oil in the valley of the airgap intake. I'm going to need a new carb I'm going to play it safe by replacing it. I know the carb was the source because the air filter was burned from the inside out.

we dont need anything to cause another fire.

i always carried one in my glove box...but then i just tested it and it doesn't work, so if i had had a fire, i'd been crap outta luck....if i ever change the shifter and go to no console, thought i'd make a cool bracket to hold one between the seats

I might mount mine on the hump where the jack mounts.but than i thought,if it happens(it better not ever happen!!!

)It would most likely be in teh front,and if i swa smoke id want to be right on it so id mount mine around the glovebox

I'm doing this at a freinds house and he is doing some of the work and I'm helping alot to. Yes I'll be doing my fair share too.

It's not getting worked on. We might remove the bellhousing though to repair the threads and clean it due to rear main seal leak. I'm glad I run a copper-ceramic clutch no chance of oil contamination.
