Month of the '71 sales?

Post by RS23-71 » Thu May 01, 2008 5:18 pm

I just happened over to the b-bodies for sale on moparts and the 1st page has 3 '71 GTXs for sale on it. Granted I have seen all 3 before and only one seems reasonably priced. That purple one has been up for sale what a yr or longer?

Oh and with a '71 & '72 runner on the 1st page as well it seems like the '71-'74s are representing....

{edit} That green '71 GTX from April on page 5.... that pic for some reason reminds me of the black one with the borked fender tag from a few months back. (something about the picture)

Yeah yours is the one that "seems reasonably priced".... those other 2 are hoping for the best. Probably why I have seen that purple one for sale for like the last yr.

That other black one is incredibly sharp. I looked it over very closely at Mopar Nationals last year.

The market is just horrifically bad right now. I got very little interest in the Curious Yellow one before it sold, and thus far, not much action on this one.

Check the "completed listings" box on Ebay and see how many auctions are actually ending with a transaction. Almost nothing is hitting reserve, and I don't think sellers are being greedy.

Fortunately, I'm not in a big hurry and am willing to wait it out. Somebody is going to get a heck of a deal on my car, but I'm not going to give it away.

Just call it a cuda and add about 40 or 50k on its price tag and it will sell... :P

Well it seems I spoke to soon so I had to change the title of the thread. That 1st page seems to have alot of '71s up for sale. I see another roadrunner and 2 satellites are now listed as well.

The other black one just appeared on Ebay. For the seller's sake, I hope he has more success than I did.

10 to 1 it doesn't hit reserve.
