I have finally set my bird free
Last June I took my car into the body shop to be painted. It was delivered back to me in November in the dark. I took pictures under flourescent lighting that made the paint color look too dark. You might remember me being concerned about the color.
Well yesterday I took it out into the sun for the first time since June. It looks awesome, and it is definitely B5 just like I asked it to be. I just need to touch up the grill and various odds and ends and I will be able to drive it about once a month with these gas prices.
The pictures still look a little dark compared to the actual car color. I wonder if I have messed up my camera while playing with it.
Tell me what you think of my baby.
While I am thinking of it (I don't want to open a can of worms here). Where do I put my circle RR on the trunk deck lid? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. It would look very weird just off the corner with my stripe package.
Thanks,
Dennis

Thanks a lot guys, the car is a dream come true for me.
The pictures and information are appreciated.

Landon, you my friend are a genious. I never even thought about painting my 72 RR grill black. I think painting the honeycomb backing black might really set off a silver grill. I will have to imagine what that would look like for a while. It could be cool.

1972RM23 posted a picture of where to place the decals on the RR. This might be a dumb question but here it goes. How do you decifer where the decals go? I mean, the numbers in the oval circle in relation to for instance the decklid. How far up, down right, left to put the RR decal on the decklid
Its the same when you look at all of the placement for the decals.

Re: bird
That decal placement is different than the roadrunner one,I think the roadrunner one goes 1 inch from bottom of deck lid and 1 inch to the left of the deck lid. This one just goes on the black stripe.I have always said that chysler used the paper that the decal was on to align it with edges.rr6pak wrote:1972RM23 posted a picture of where to place the decals on the RR. Well I read blueprints about every day and these make little sense to me without knowing what "P.5.4941" is... everytime I have seen notations like that they refer you to another print/prints or something that defines how things are placed.
Between the print 1972RM23 posted and this one it looks like they used the carrier paper to line them up... I know that doesnt help..
