Just wondering what is the correct color for the air cleaner housing on a 71 383 roadrunner. Is it gloss black, semi-gloss, or black wrinkle finish?

The original air cleaner on my (then 383) Road Runner was none of the above. It was a hemi-orange dual snorkle with a pie plate. I think the black krinkle air cleaners were on earlier models.

That orange one was probably from a 72. Correct 71 should be black krinkle. Even my SSP with the 2bbl carb has a black krinkle one (obviously different from a 4bbl).

Whoa, sorry for spreading disinformation! The one on my Runner would have gotten replaced EARLY in the car's life then... It was orange back when I bought it from Lammers in '81. Weird. Oh well, I'll stick with my six barrel--I KNOW what color it's supposed to be!
