To Clone or Not to Clone?

Just to be clear, I intend on keeping the original GY8 Gold Leaf paint. It's a great color for the 71-72 B Body shape! Besides, I'm a big believer in doing the original paint unless the car is a total frame up job. I don't think it's very cool to see another color in the trunk or door sills.
I can't imagine what that white on white SSP looks like, though! I'll bet it would turn heads at a show...

hmm...i've considered cloning mine..even started putting rr emblems on the car and stopped, put the ssp ones on...mine is just a sebring, but i could only get the plus emblems...and i wanted more hemi orange on the car (that's the color i did the "plus" i like the satellite for what it is...now i am a fan of tweaking things to make it appear original, but not be...right now i'm considering a stripe running a long the body line...similar to the rts rr, but not quite as big or bold as that..and in black......also, i prefer stripped cars without emblems, etc. on them - especially when done in black - tough lookin.
there aren't too many 4th gens i've ever seen - and almost all are birds or clones of birds...i seem to be the only one with satellite badges, so i think i stand out a lil more than your average rr, camaro, mustang, etc...other than the pearl intense blue paint and 4" 4into1 sidepipes lol
so basically, this is a book, but with gold leaf metallic, you can't go wrong - the car will POP

Roof is in fact white (Santa has also since brought the Mopar Bullseye Caps for the 7 x 14 Magnums).

man, my car was EXACTLY like yours witht eh exception of the vinyl roof. Everything else is the same...........400 2bbl, white buckets, white exterior with gray on teh bottom. Next month, it will be solid white, air bubble, wing, chin spoilers, Cragar SS's, white interior with black dash and carpet.

To Clone or Not to Clone
Hi,
Don't want to hijack the thread here, so I'll be brief. Here is another pic. The color scheme is factory original, except the car was given a quick makeover in the 80s. The white used was too white and the Silver Grey too grey. The orignal was Ermine White w/ Argent Silver cutouts / white vinyl roof and white interior (buckets / console w/ shifter / Tuff wheel, all correct on the data plate (glad at least the original buyer optioned those).
Original wheels were 14 x 6 Rallyes, I believe.

The Ermine white looks better than bright white IMHO and that is what I will go with.
Brgds,
Ian B.

I like the "badgeless" idea myself. In the end, do what you want. I stripped my Sebring of all the emblems and then had a custom stripe made with Sebring instead of Roadrunner. The only other emblem is the Plymouth circle on the header panel. Then again I strayed on the color and wing as well. Ultimately, make it yours and enjoy it.

I like the custom stripe w/ Sebring idea & badgeless - makes it like a phantom car option Chrysler should have offered. Nice car.plyss71 wrote:I like the "badgeless" idea myself. In the end, do what you want. I stripped my Sebring of all the emblems and then had a custom stripe made with Sebring instead of Roadrunner. My personal opinion... I wouldn't clone it.
Satellite, Road Runner or GTX they are all beautiful but when someone tells me they got a clone or a "tribute" thats when I start to lose interest.
I find Satellites more interesting cause I see so many more interesting combos and packages on each one I see.
