Yeah I always wondered about contacting Galen Govier myself. I do have to say it seems Roadrunner Nest has plenty of extremely knowledgeable ppl here that I'm not to sure how much more GG could tell me about my car.

Only questions I have now is how many '71 GTXs had cloth seats like mine has since all the pictures I have seen of Xs I havent seen one other with them.
Other question is what Eric clued me in on and what exactly does the 'public relations' R mean in the order # of my car mean? I have seen others with other letters in the beginning of their order # like E and why would they use a letter like that over a Y** fender tag code?

Yeah thats weird?Does it stand for like a rent a car or something?lol

Ive found ALOT of info about my car, every week i do a a couple of Google searches to see if theres any new information, and it almost seems that Im the only Sundance owner trying to find out about them,if you type in "1974 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Sundance Edition"

80% of the links up to 2 pages are linked to me.
all the others is place that have minimal information about them.

Thats why i thought about this guy,ive been told about him plenty of times, but i dont think i want to deal with him...BUT ive also thought about if he does know something,or if hes even heard about my car,or has info.

Can't say exactly why mopar used letters in the VON to designate special conditions such as E (built for international order), G (sunroof cars), C (built for Canadian order), etc. These did not take the place of other codes on the fender tag. Some plants did code Y** on the tag while others did not.
"disclaimer" everything above applies to 1971 vehicles, some may apply to 72-74 cars as well...

The letters in the VON helped the bean counters follow the money.

R could be Public Relations or Chrysler Executive Lease car. The broadcast sheet Y codes would tell you which one.

Either way, Chrysler built the car with the intent of using it for their purposes for awhile, so the ownership / title would have been in their name.

For other letters like C, B, E etc., it affected the purchase price, mainly the delivery charge, so the accountants needed to track each one respectively with that in mind.
