BTW how could you order a SSP and a RR in the same car?
Are you saying you built a car on the assembly line with all RR or GTX goodies and then at the end you put a RP23 or RH23 tag on it.

Mine was June 20 (fender tag and line 1, "order number" first 3 digits) and according to what I've been told, line 6 "time" block says 0953 and that's when the car was "complete" although I can't verify that.

On the Monroney sticker, under the "S.O. NO." is "65207" and "63" whatever the hell that means.

Actually an early build GTX. I checked the other post for early birthdays and Streetwedg's GTX was built a few weeks earlier.

March is about 3/4 the way through the production year, so late but not super late. But you are the first 73RR/GTX so I will get you on the list. Thanks!

Called the build date or service production date (spd) it is on your fender tag. Usually second line from the bottom and 4th group over. It is a 3 digit group. 1st digit is the month, 1-9 for Jan-Sep and A-C for Oct-Dec. The next two for the date of that month. It should be on the broadcast sheet, can anyone verify that?

For a 1971 vehicle, that equates to a build date of September 2nd, 1970. Scott.

That's fairly early...start of production for 71 B bodies was the first week of August 70

Like Eric said - 71 production started in Aug of 1970 - so your build date is roughly one month into the production year. The sequence number on your VIN should follow suit. They started with 100001 for the first car built that year - My car was built on Aug 26th with a sequence number of 1069xx - so given the trend of about 350 cars per day - and your car being built on Sep 2nd - the last 6 numbers in your vin should be somewheres close to 109000. Am I in the ballpark?
