Dash Pad Removal
Guys, how hard is it to remove the dash pad? I was going to work on some wiring and figured it would be easier to work on? The dash pad has some cracks so I figured now might be a good time. Also, any suggestions where to get a new pad?

Not very easy cause you have to lower and or remove the steering column, and rotate the dash frame down. Having said that, sometimes that is the only way to get to some of the wiring .

the job sucks,,,especially the last nut closest to the drivers door...

Going to have to disagree, really not that tough, only way to seriously service the dash wiring is to pull the dash out as a unit. Pull the column out completely, remove the two column mount studs. Unbolt the bulkhead connector from the firewall, four fasteners across the top, leave the two lower bolt loose but in place, dash frame pivots back, lift off the bolts. That’s how it was assembled, after some experience, can have it out in about an hour.
