Sounds like hot coolant is running through your heat exchange. Make sure all vaccuum lines are connected correctly on your A/C under the dash. There should be a diaphram that actuates a valve to stop coolant from running through heat exchange. I hope this helps. I know there is self sticking sound deadener, not sure if it has any insulating properties but it might reduce heat from floor pan. Are you running long tube headers?
