Post by Miel » Thu Apr 28, 2011 3:22 pm

hello guys,

I got a 70 go wing I want to sell and I was wondering how I can find out if its a original one or a replica?
we all know that those models don't belong on a 71 RR ;)

Actually some early build 71 cars did come through with 70 wings.

The wing that came on my car had a small dent in the middle. When I tapped on the wing it sounded like extremely hard plastic or fiberglass as it had a bit of a ring to it. I was sure it was a repop but couldn't figure out what material it was made out of that could dent. So I ordered a new wing assembly that was guaranteed an exact copy of the original "concours quality". It comes and other than the dent, its exactly the same as the wing on the car. I think its fiberglass resin on aluminum feet. I got a really good deal on the wing and it came painted, sold the old wing and basically broke even.

Still dont know how fiberglass or plastic could dent. :?
