New parts for 71-72 B bodies

Post by Eric » Mon Aug 13, 2007 9:40 pm

I think I spent more money on new parts at the nats than ever before. A few companies have really stepped up to the plate. Besides the upcoming quarter panels I mentioned in a previous post here are just a few cool resto parts out there:

B/E&A

Chrome slapstik shifter bezel (I bought one)
PRND21 slapstik shifter lens (bought one of these too)
71 side markers (white plastic is not 100% correct but not bad)
71 side marker bezels
A/G actuator (not 100% correct but close)
71 tail light lenses (these have been out for about a year)

RPM Restoration Parts

correct window felts...these are a brand new offering and VERY correct. Up till now, the ones available were nowhere near correct!!! Can't tell you how long I've been waiting for these. Very expensive but worth it (yes I bought a set of these too)
AKA Butterscotch71....the road runner nest is out to win you over this year!Image

Thanks for the info!! I look forward to the day I can pour some money into my orange 71 SSP!!

Also saw the post reguarding sheetmetal might be coming soon!! I know that has been a rumor for a long time though. But I know there are many cool cars awaiting that!!! So I am keeping my fingers crossed!! Would be nice if front fenders are in the works as well!! :)
1971 Satellite Sebring Plus - EV2 / V1W / P6XW Not very nice but it is still wearing original paint and hose clamps!! :)

I went to B/E/A's tent as well. Their parts are a few dollars more than PG classics. PG makies there own, so they say. For instance, the front turn signals. PG sells them for $109 I think plus the gaskets where as B/E/A sells the same for $149. I'm not knocking anyone but I dont have a money tree and If I can find parts cheaper, well you know the story. Here is there web address:

P.S I saw a 3 71-72 B-Bodies sitting in a row. One red, yellow, and a blue. I dont know if it was anyone from the Nest that owned any of them but I stopped and talked to a couple of the guys for quite a while.

The B/E&A parts are the same as PG Classics. The only difference is B/E&A is licensed through Chrysler, so their parts have the original pentastar emblems and part number for a more correct appearance. If you're not worried about numbers and concourse correctness, the PG stuff is fine.

They are probably not up on the site yet. The guy told me he just got them finished the Monday before the show (they weren't even in a package).
Price was a little steep, $150 for the set of 10 pieces

expensive yes, but when you compare them to the alternative out there (priced at around $100) I can't imagine not spending the extra $$

Most companies sells the felts in a set of eight, not ten. I will inquire about them.

Eric,

"Set of 10", does that include the curved quarter window pieces too? If so, $150 for a complete set of correct stuff really doesn't seem "expensive" at all. Looks like the set I picked up a few years back from Fritz might just find it's way onto eBay... ;)

Yup, the curved quarter window pieces (both inner and outer) are included...plus I noticed that one piece was defective when I looked at it a couple days after bringing it home. I emailed Randy, and he's sending out a replacement at no charge. These guys take their customer service seriously
