Is this a Sebring?

Post by aerodynamic » Mon Jun 26, 2006 7:31 pm

Hi all,

Well, a parts car popped up on Ebay today, so I snagged it. It also comes with the car hauler it's sitting on, oddly enough. It's an hour and a half from here, so it was sort of a no-brainer. Is this car a Sebring, and if so, would it have buckets?

Hmmm, VIN starts with RH, and the "H" means high-priced class. I would guess that means it's likely a Sebring. But I'm afraid I can't tell you if Sebring's came standard with buckets. Anyone?

I think it's an option, cuz mine came with the deluxe bench interior, but then it was changed to buckets. I do know that a lot of the sebrings did come with buckets, though. Not sure which was more popular or standard, though. Then again, i have a 71, so maybe they changed it later on?

Actually

Actually, it turned out to be a better deal than I could possibly have hoped. I ended up getting the car and the ramp truck it was on for $2100. Then, I realized the rally dash cluster, harness, bezel, and passenger side woodgrain dash bezel were almost flawless. The ones that came with my Road Runner had all been painted wrong colors and the dash harness was burned. I'm pretty happy withwhat I got, and I kinda like having two of these b-bodies at hand, but the wife isn't as enthusiastic about the parts car. The Road Runner I'm building had almost everything inside painted silver, including the dash pad and rear seat. The Satellite had a perfect black dash frame with no scraches but the dash pad was cracked. This weekend, I yanked both dashes, painted my good dash pad black, and transferred it and my Road Runner emblem to the Satellite's dash frame which then went into the Runner. Man, it almost looks factory and perfect, I'm so stoked. Now if I could just get rid of this ramp truck!!
