Thanks, the car did win its class again this year. I hadn’t planned on going as it’s a bit of a drive and they were calling for rain all day. I don’t think the guy with the flaming Charger, was too happy I did show up again this year, as he wasn’t at all talkative and left before the awards. For this show, the fact that my car has two more carburetors than it did originally and the lack of cast iron exhaust manifolds classed me as “modifiedâ€.
The yellow and black 73’s are both automatic bench seat RR/GTXs. Pretty sure the red one was a 318 auto bench, though never saw under the hood or checked the vin. I’ve been classed with the black 73’ RR/GTX before in other local shows before. It’s been repainted at least one time, other than that it’s very original.
Some Interesting photos?

Re: Some Interesting photos?
I wonder, years ago [ early 90's] i looked at a black RR/GTX in the Mount Lake Terrace area that was for sale, it was a bench seat car, but needed resto at the time, so probably not that car [?]
Also looked at a 73/74 Black with Red [ pink ] stripe RR 318/ 4 speed car in Ocean Shores in 2004-2005. They wanted $ 6000 for it at the time, but the interior was shot, it ran badly, and each panel was as wavy as a windblown lake + busted grille. Too much $$ for what i wanted, ended up buying a 78 Super Coupe instead. The stripe was so faded it looked pink on the RR. Hence my question about the black one.
That Stock vs Modifed classification is a weird one. Your car seems pretty close to stock [ colors, drivetrain, interior, quality of resto, etc ].
A friend entered a 70 Barracuda in that Sunbust show in the mid 90's. His car was originally EV2 / 318-2barrel / Bench seat. As brought to the show it was-- Dark Blue / had Headers + 4bbl / still had bench seat. His engine compartment was definitely Not "show winning". He never opened the hood the entire day !! The car won 3rd place in E-body Stock class because there were so few "stock" cars that year
. Had the car been in the "modified" class per their rules, where it should have been, i doubt it would have gotten ANY votes, as there were many more much nicer Challenger/ Cudas in the modified section......

Re: Some Interesting photos?

Oof! I'd love to see more of that black '74....same scheme as my old '74/400 car.

Looks like a very nice showing of 71-74 B-bodies...hard to find them at shows in the MD area.

Re: Some Interesting photos?
Thanks!
I can't believe I sold that car back in '93 for $1,100. I've only seen 2 others with that color combo, one was a 340 RR and the other was almost an exact clone of mine which had the 400 and console...the other 400 I saw at the Nats was a column shift car.
I had tried to buy the car back 3 times from the guy I sold it to for more than double what he paid, but he never let it go.
Anyhow, enough of my nostalgic rantings, thanks again for sharing the pictures.
