Hi guys,
could any of you post a photo of the "road runner" emblem on the rear fender of their '71 RR and include a few measures for placing the emblem parts and the bird?
My car didn't have the emblems originally and therefore there are no holes for the emblem studs!
Thanks,

Can you use this?

If you want I can take a pic of the bird.

Thanks mopar71,
that great help. If you don't mind snapping an extra shot of the bird and emblem straigt on, I would appreciate it.

My runner does not have the holes either. Is the emblem incorporated in the roof stripe by any chance?

The roof emblem(strobe stripe) has the bird in the decal. I dont have a strobe stripe pic maybe someone can provide a pic.My runner has the holes pre drilled.

Remember not all Road Runners will have the holes in the quarters. Not only those that have the roof stripe, but eventually the posts were done away with and the emblems were adhesive-backed. I don't recall exactly WHEN this happened though, perhaps someone else has that info...

Hey Bruce, I went to a car show and saw a 71 with the strobe and also with the metal road runner emblems also,I think I have a pic of that one.looked strange to me,I did not see the owner to ask if it came that way.

No, they didn't come like that, but I've seen it too. I'd guess it might be a car that didn't come with the stripe originally but had it added later.

yup, that's what guys do that want strobe stripes on cars that didn't originally come that way and they don't want to do any body or paint work to fill in the holes
AKA Butterscotch71....the road runner nest is out to win you over this year!

Eric, do you know when the adhesive-backed emblems came in? Was that on any of the '71s or strictly later years?
